Workers Urge President Trump to Preserve Duty Drawback
The duty drawback program creates good-paying jobs, encourages manufacturing, and incentivizes American exports. Recently, workers who benefit from this critical program wrote letters to President and urged him to preserve this critical program:
“I work for Pernod Ricard in Fort Smith, Arkansas. I am a TPR Coordinator, and my job was created due to Duty Drawback. I’m proud to work with a company that supports American Manufacturing. I would like to invite you to come and see for yourself how Pernod Ricard is creating jobs through buying American mad products and supplies. Thank you for supporting Duty Drawback.” – Terra, TPR Coordinator
“If the new regulations change the current way we do business, our facility will suffer. Our American raw materials suppliers will suffer as well. Lastly our local community will suffer, and we’ve seen our fair share of big name businesses moving their local operations to other countries for a variety of reasons…Please stand with us and support the current drawback duty regulations and refuse any proposed change which can and will impact our local communities.” – Lance
“Duty Drawback will allow my facility to grow, expand, add production and create new jobs allowing others to have the same opportunity to have what I have enjoyed for the past 20+ years. Please support Duty Drawback, continue your support of American jobs and continue Making America Great Again!” – Melanie, Administrative Assistant
“I hope that you’ll take a look at this if you get the chance and agree that Drawback is a great thing for us that could really give a facility like ours a shot in the arm to grow.” – Steve
“Being part of the continued drawback program would be a win-win for the city of Fort Smith and the great state of Arkansas. It would also support your vision of buying American, hiring American, and investing in our country.” – Robert, New Product Development Manager
“I am writing to you in support of the substitution duty drawback program. This program enables our facility specifically to increase our production of export products, all the while creating new jobs for our area. Please ensure the Treasury Department makes the necessary revisions to continue growth for those of us working in this industry.” – Deanna, Production Planner
“Please help us continue to create more jobs. Please support Duty Drawback. A strong America is a working America. Thank you for supporting the American Workforce.” – Tad
“Duty drawback has been a catalyst for creating new jobs at Pernod-Ricard, helping to support this additional volume. These new jobs have brought new families to Fort Smith, and this additional volume has helped to make our company the company that every wants to work for, which in turn supports the entire Fort Smith and surrounding areas.” – Matt
“American exports make our company better, but more importantly it will help give jobs to my friends and neighbors. I want Fort Smith to grow, and I know this will help. Thank you for your time.” – Kylie, Packaging Specialist
“Duty drawback to me means more jobs. More jobs means more prosperity. I have worked in manufacturing for 30 plus years of my life. For eighteen years I worked for a company that decided to close the doors and move to China. It’s really hard to get over a feeling of betrayal like that…American Made! That’s what we need to see more of! I see duty drawback doing just that! So…let’s make that happen!” – Lori
